Anca Luca, Chief Growth Officer at InnovX attended “Nearshoring into CEE – A New Business Strategy for International Businesses” conference held in Warsaw, organized by DLA Piper Poland. 🚀 The conference highlighted, among other key aspects, the critical role CEE plays in shaping the future of global supply chains. The discussions were initiated by Jacek Giziński, Co-managing Partner at DLA Piper Poland and Sandra M Wallace CBE, Joint Managing Director UK and Europe at DLA Piper, who set the stage by emphasizing the unique advantages of nearshoring in CEE, particularly around operational flexibility, risk mitigation, and the region's proximity to Western Europe and NATO membership. These aspects make CEE a highly attractive region for high-tech manufacturing, real estate, or energy investments. 💡 Rafal Benecki Chief Economist of ING Poland shared an eye-opening presentation on Poland’s impressive economic growth over the past two decades. Benecki also pointed out how Poland has transitioned into an investment-driven growth model.
The panel discussions were particularly insightful: 🔹 Panel 1: Is Nearshoring an Effective Way to Deal with Black Swans? Led by Jacek Giziński and his guests: Iwona Chojnowska-Haponik (JLL), Wojciech Cofur (Beck & Pollitzer), Monika Grzelak (Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and Janusz Wladyczak (KUKE), the panel explored how businesses can use nearshoring to build resilience against black swan events like the pandemic and political instability.
🔹 Panel 2: Relocation and the Real Estate Market This panel, expertly guided by Michal Hink, focused on how nearshoring is reshaping the demand for commercial and industrial real estate in CEE. Karel Stransky (CTP), Michał Chodecki (Panattoni), Adam Jedrzejczak (Danfoss) and Piotr Dopierala (Auchan Retail) shared their insights on how ESG compliance and sustainability are becoming increasingly central to real estate projects, particularly in attracting nearshoring investments.
🔹 Panel 3: CEE as a Modern Technology Hub This session, led by Ewa Kurowska-Tober from DLA Piper Poland, highlighted CEE's immense potential as a tech hub, particularly in terms of digital infrastructure and cybersecurity. Aneta Kocemba from Societe Generale Poland elaborated on how nearshoring is creating opportunities for tech innovation, positioning CEE as an ideal location for high-tech production and services, a topic that was discussed during this panel together with Bartlomiej Czuba (mBank S.A.), Dariusz Jurewicz (HSBC) and Monika Ściuba (PZU).
At InnovX, we are excited about the immense potential that nearshoring offers for the CEE region. We look forward to deepening our partnership with DLA Piper and other key players in the nearshoring and friendshoring arenas, to support the evolution of resilient, sustainable, and efficient supply chains for businesses worldwide.
